Throughout the film, there is visible tension as Brando shows affection for Wilson in private, but in public he flirts with several different girls. They get into a heated argument, ending with Wilson leaving the bar to go back to their hotel room. Later, Brando comes back, taking the truck keys and leaving while Wilson is asleep, leaving him to wonder what happened when he woke up.
